A Tale of Two Speeches: What Shall It Profit a Man . . .?

In President Biden's address to a partial Congress last night and in Senator Tim Scott's response, we heard two starkly contrasting answers to the Biblical question, "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" (Mark 8:36)

President Biden, who could not even bring himself to utter the words "under God" after pronouncing us "One nation" during his speech, answered the question with "Everything." Senator Scott answered with "Nothing."

The most compromised President in American history, jointly owned by the Chinese government, the Democrat party, and the Media, would gain the world. Senator Scott, on the other hand, a professing Christian who knows what the real prize is and who knows who wields the real power, would not forfeit his soul for power or any other worldly gain. How refreshing it would be to have a President who, at the very least, knew the correct answer to the aforementioned question.

Unfortunately, Joe Biden's soul is not the only price he would pay for great power. As collateral he has offered up the United States, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and your freedom. But let us not be surprised that he would sell his soul and the soul of the country for power. The minute that Biden joined his son, Hunter, in selling his soul to our foreign enemies, all doubts were removed as to whether he would sell out his country and his fellow countrymen for personal and political gain. Alas, he can do no other, even if he wanted to, without risking ruin to his personal wealth and reputation, not to mention the risk of sharing a jail cell with Hunter. His owners have him on a short leash and he can do nothing but cater to their demands. If he balks, they have the goods on him and could destroy him in the blink of an eye. That's the deal and the understanding between Mr. Biden and those who gave him the nomination and the election: give us everything we want, and we will all pretend like the power is yours.

If you loved President Biden's speech last night and his words further entrenched your support for him, then you probably either did not hear Senator Scott's speech, or you dismissed him as a Christian crackpot. If that is the case, I will leave you with one more Bible verse: "The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned." (1 Corinthians 2:14) For those who do understand what Senator Scott said and the context around his words, join me in praying for Joe Biden, for everyone in the D.C. swamp and for one another. Prayer and God are more powerful than political power and the Presidency.
