 O. Palmer Robertson is someone we have gotten to know only relatively lately, and we consider our introduction to Him a God-given, providential discovery. Robertson has somewhat recently taken to writing a Substack page called Elder to Elder (elder2elder). Though his Substack normally is focused on issues that directly affect Teaching and Ruling Elders, occasionally he writes more broadly or universally. The substack article below falls into the latter category. We appreciate all that Robertson writes, but we are especially enlightened by his knowledge of the Gospel as it pertains to God's Covenant to the Jews; "Gospel Equity" (our term, not Robertson's) among Jews and Gentiles; Palestine in history and in God's overall plans, and "the land." In short, he clears up much confusion and anxiety that exists in the church and in the world regarding "the times" and "the land" vis-a-vis the Jews and the Gentiles, and redemptive history. ...

THERE IS A GREAT (IN MY OPINION) BOOK WRITTEN IN 1890 WITH THE TITLE "OUR COUNTRY'S FUTURE, OR GREAT NATIONAL QUESTIONS." It covers a number of topics, including Divorce, Our Cities, Religion, The Politician and much more. In the section on Immigration, there is a statement that I believe is applicable to our times, 134 years after it was written. I thought you might find it to be so, too. "BECAUSE this is a land of liberty a great many foreigners imagine it a land of license. To do them justice, they do not know any better. But we do, and it is our duty to teach them the difference. If we don't, we, not they, will be the principal sufferers. The subject of immigration has been largely discussed by the newspapers of late, and a good deal of demagogy has been got off in Congress on the same subject. But sensible people are pretty well agreed that it is time to put some restriction upon the use of America as a common dumping ground for the world's offal and rub...

DEI is the "climate change of HR." It's an unsustainable "solution" for a make-believe problem. Small wonder that most HR people (I retired from the field) are still rabid for DEI, as the vast majority of today's HR professionals are young, female, liberal and radical, at least compared to HR people from 50 to 75 years ago. HR people "in the day" had a much deeper understanding of business, and a much more keen awareness for the employer-employee balance. And they were much less gullible and brainwashed than today's HR practitioners. My entire HR career was, as have been the careers of most HR people, carried out in the face of skeptical senior managers forced (to some extent) to "take HR's word for it" (DEI, affirmative action, this fad, that fad...ad infinitum), who then felt betrayed when HR's pleas and assurances turned out to be all Cost and no Benefit. Alas, DEI has nigh established itself as yet another HR cottage indus...

Without commentary from me, I commend to you....

R. C. Sproul rarely mentioned living people in a negative way, and when he did, the mention was well-earned. He mentions Joe Biden in this teaching on Eternity from nine years ago. Is it any wonder that Biden would have no problem with the weaponization of the law, when he has long held that our laws are not based on Natural Law? On top of that held belief, Biden graduated last in his law-school class.
