An Election Juxtaposition : The Presidential Conventions and The Godward Life Conference

At the same time that we (many of us) struggle to come to grips with Presidential tickets comprised of an autocratic California Marxist (Harris) and an autocratic Minnesota Marxist (Tim Walz), on the one side, and two Populist Nationalists (Donald Trump and J. D. Vance) on the other side, we must remind ourselves that California and Minnesota and Ohio and New York have a considerable number of Christ-trusting and Bible-believing citizens. In the case of Minnesota, I am reminded that Bethlehem Baptist Church, pastored by John Piper, is firmly established in the city of Minneapolis. 

I do not harbor any false illusions that every member of Bethlehem Church is a Christian, much less a Republican or Democrat. But I believe I can safely say that that Bethlehem Church stands as a beacon of light in the darkness that is both political parties. And I believe that it is equally safe to say that there are true Christians and Christian churches in the home states and cities of all the candidates.

I choose to point out Bethlehem Church only as an example that Minneapolis and Minnesota are not just "Tim Walz country," they are God's country. Tim Walz has temporary, human authority over the State; God has concurrent and complete, eternal Sovereignty over the State of Minnesota and Tim Walz...and over Kamala Harris, and Donald J. Trump, and J. D. Vance, and Joe Biden, and our Congress and Senate...

But the Conference organizers state the case far better and more clearly than I can possibly do so. I hope Minnesotans will flock to this conference, and I pray that other true Churches will remind their members and the World of what is necessary for "Enjoying Peace in an Anxious Age." Politics and Politicians are not the source of our Peace, even in the rare cases where politicians seek God's guidance. Christ is our one and only true peace, no matter our political affiliation or how we vote.

IQ Tests Are One Reason I Don't Trust AI

  REMEMBER IQ TESTS? Stick with me here for a minute or two.  One of the (if not the main) reasons I shy away from Artificial Intelligence (AI) (which is not even a real thing, but that is another discussion) is because, unlike the woke crowd, I don't reject completely the legitimacy of IQ tests. That having been said, it stands to reason that AI will always reflect the breadth, width, depth and sources of learning of the various individuals who are developing the AI programs (i.e., their IQ's).  (And by the way, does it not bother people that multiple AI programs and models are being developed, thereby suggesting that there are many types of intelligence around any particular topic?)   In short, AI will always reflect the collective IQ's of its developers.
